Can soil impact nutrition?
Listen to my thoughts.
Hi there,
Welcome to The Life Larder! This weekly newsletter serves up a bite-sized menu of stories and ideas about making food that’s not only delicious but also healthy and sustainable.
Each issue is packed with inspiring articles, flavourful ideas, and voices from across the vibrant food world. Think of me as your friendly guide, helping you create meals that nourish your body, delight your taste buds, and care for our planet. Treat this newsletter like a personal larder—always stocked with something you’ll love.
Hello again - I’m excited that this week’s ‘article’ is actually a podcast. I take so many people with me in podcast format on my daily dog-walks and I think, when you have someone’s voice in your ears for an extended amount of time it’s perhaps one of the best ways to connect to their thoughts and ideas. That’s why all the links this week are audio too - I hope you’ll take some of them with you in your headphones over the weekend.
Before I go - if you’re enjoying the newsletter, I’d love you to share it with a friend - the more you share the more I can create here, so I appreciate it!
Before you tuck in…

Can soil impact nutrition?
A podcast with me and Roots and All.

In the kitchen.
When plants are cared for, when the earth and soil that someone is pulling those carrots out of is in as good a shape as possible, that’s when we get food that sings.
Are those carrots therefore more nutritious? Listen to the pod below.

Mushroom Crisps
Gluten free mushroom ‘crisps’ that you won’t be able to stop eating.
My partner is obsessed with these. Whenever I make them (usually as a bite if we have mushrooms that might be a day away from turning) he scoops them off the tray before I can get them into the bowl. They also make a great topping for dips or veggie tarts (pictured when you click through!)
