My Zhoug

The spicy sweet sauce that goes with everything.

Served over yoghurt I love this with eggs.

If you haven’t tried this middle-eastern sauce before, now is certainly the time. It goes with everything and I guarantee it will brighten up any meal.

Ingredients

  • 60g coriander

  • 40g parsley

  • 3 green chillies

  • 5g ground cumin

  • 6 cardamom pods, seeds ground

  • 1 tsp honey

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp water

Method

  1. Chop the coriander and parsley coarsely

  2. Add all the ingredients to a blender, and blitz until really smooth. Taste and add salt and pepper till you’re happy with the flavour

  3. Enjoy with veggies, fish, meat or sourdough.
